He fell in love with
the country
John Richmond, lives in a small village in the Highlands of Scotland
and founded Retreat Travel in 2006 to provide all-inclusive meditation
retreat holidays to Nepal. He first visited Nepal several years
ago as a participant on a charity trek and fell in love with the
country and its people. After completing outdoor medic training
with Expedition Medicine, he has enjoyed working as a guide/medic
with 'Across the Divide' and has returned to Nepal on a number of
occasions.
Foothills of the Himalayas
He combined his love of the Himalayas with his interest in meditation
to come up with the idea of taking people, who perhaps had little
enthusiasm for outdoor activity, to enjoy a different aspect of
Nepal. Retreat Travel gives people the opportunity to experience
a meditation retreat holiday at a retreat centre in beautiful surroundings
in the foothills of the Himalayas, close to Annapurna. |
John also runs Retreat
Trading, a business importing and selling, thangka
paintings, singing bowls, Buddha statues, jewellery, pashmina
scarves and other beautiful things from Nepal, Tibet and
Thailand. |
